Weddings with Eva

Just about everyone who starts out warning Eva that they hate having their photo taken ends up admitting it was one of the highlights of their wedding day.

That's because Eva gets to know her couples before the day, so that when the camera starts going click, everyone is relaxed and knows exactly what to expect.
She also seriously believes that the magic of wedding photography comes out when you're having fun, clowning around with your wedding party and generally feeling relaxed. There will be no barking orders from Eva on the day - she's mastered the art of getting everyone doing what they should while having lots of fun in the process.
While you will get direction on how to stand and what to do, Eva will encourage lots of talking and laughter. Much of the shots of you with your bride or groom will be taken on a long lens meaning you have the privacy to talk about what just happened (getting hitched, ye ha!) and be spontaneous and candid.

With a documentary style, Eva's wedding photography starts with the bride and groom getting ready - fly on the wall style as frantic last-minute preparations are underway. If you give her time, she'd love to take you to some cool spots en route to the ceremony.

The story proper begins with the bride arriving at the ceremony and her nervous future husband waiting on shaking legs. Standing unobtrusively at the back of the congregation, Eva records the important part of your day with a long lens - there's nothing worse than saying your vows with a flash going off in your face.

Afterwards, family photographs are usually taken before the wedding party leaves with Eva to shoot the formal portraits - but don't panic - the 'formalities' usually involve plenty of champagne and laughter. This shoot takes about one hour on-site and 1.5hrs if we go to locations further afield. In Hawkes Bay we are spoilt for choice and often the very best place to shoot will be at the reception venue itself.

Eva usually wraps up a shoot by photographing you arriving at the reception, a mock cake cutting and a selection of reception photography, including guests and the head table. Of course, if you want her to stay and capture the inevitable results of a wine country wedding as they unfold on the dance floor later on, well, that's entirely up to you!

Importantly, Eva shoots with the latest digital technology, which means great photography can be made even better during post-production. Airbrushing, black & white and subtle digital enhancements over many hours will leave you looking flawless.

Eva has a classical, natural style and won't subject your images to today's high-fashion photographic styles unless you ask for it. We all groan when we remember the soft-focus disasters of the 80s. What looks cool now might look hideous to your children and grandchildren. Eva believes a beautiful, technically perfect image is timeless. If she does do any whizz-bang colour treatments, you will still get the high resolution original on your disk.



All packages include every image of your wedding day in high resolution on disk, so there are no costly surprises later and you have the flexibility of doing your own reprints and enlargements as and when you want.

You'll also get a TV slideshow with your own wedding music and all your images hosted on an online album for friends and family around the world to enjoy.
