Ashlee & Nick - Ard Lussa Farm, Hawke's Bay

I often get asked where my favourite wedding venue is. This is a really hard question to answer because Hawke's Bay - the winery capital of New Zealand - has so many absolutely exquisite places to get married and I love all of them for different reasons.

For me, though, it is hard to beat a family farm. Not just because country weddings are a fresh and challenging creative environment but because it is a chance to create a new and very special layer of family history where so much has already gone before, and will come after.

Ashlee & Nick had their 'first look' beside the Maimai on the property they recently bought and will one day live on. I like to think that every time Nick now goes duck shooting with the lads, he'll also remember the very first moment he saw his future wife. The wedding ceremony was a little further down the road at Ashlee's family farm, Ard Lussa. Picture perfect in every way, it now has some hugely special memories to add to the farm's long family history.
