I love surprises. And nothing surprised me quite so much lately as when I found out that my sweet and softly spoken couple, Janine and Mark, are from the Army. And not in cushy pen-pushing roles either. I was surprised again when I turned up to at Janine's family home on her bright and sunny Hawkes Bay wedding day to see that beside her combat boots were the most delicate and beautiful pair of cream silk heels, generously garnished with Swarovski crystals. I could see why Mark felt the need to make her his own.
After a ceremony at St Luke's Church in Havelock North, we high-tailed it to the top of Te Mata Peak. After a fabulous photobomb from an incoming paraglider, we then locked the 4WD on for some cross-country action before kicking off our shoes and legging it to the Redwoods.
Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Stirrat for giving me and my camera such a groovy day filled with surprises, and for bringing the smiling little Jack along - the perfect cherry on top of the perfect wedding day.
