Israel & Sharon - The Old Church - By Eva Bradley

It's not often a sneaky little tear escapes me at a wedding. After being part of more than 500 of them, love seems like a fairly common currency (what a great world I live in!). But sometimes, something just gets ya. At Israel and Sharon's wedding, just about everything got me. First it was Sharon's infectious excitement when she got engaged. She was absolutely DESPERATE to tell everyone, but until the ring was ready it was secret squirrel (I had special privledges as they wanted to set a date). Then we had the most delicious engagement shoot where I got my first taste of just how much this couple dig each other. Israel asked Sharon to their first school ball and he has had his eye on her ever since. For years after, they remained just friends, despite every single email or letter Israel ever sent to Sharon ended, quite simply, 'passionately yours'. Eventually when she had roamed the world and come back again, Sharon decided she was passionately his, too.

Because they are also passionately creative, I got swept up into their wedding plans like a feather and we have had so much fun finding the perfect locations (the 'Secret Garden') from Sharon's youth...and planning her presentation of handmade jewellery to her four beautiful bridesmaids. Sharon even made individual scented candles for all of her guests (even me!). And the surprise appearance of old mate Dave Baxter from Avalanche City to sing us all 'Love, love, love' during the signing of the register was awesome.

After 11 hours of shooting (lots of it in the near dark, though thanks to the adorable Canon 5DMkIII you can't tell!), I was beat. But every moment was fantastic. How wonderful to be involved with so much happiness. Congrats, Sharon and Israel. And thanks for having me and fellow sharp-shooter Elena on your A-team xxx
