WEDDING VIDEO
It’s a conundrum…you want to spend your wedding photography budget on the best photographer BUT you don’t want Uncle Bob with his iPhone left in charge of videoing your wedding, right? If you can afford a professional videographer without eating into your photography budget, go for it (and feel free to ask who I recommend). However, if you’re like many of the couples I work with at Hawke’s Bay weddings and you want something that costs a less than a cinematic video coverage but still professionally records the sound and movement that still photography can’t capture, this may be the best option for you.

HOW IT WORKS
During the ceremony and speeches, a lapel microphone is worn by the groom and celebrant to record crisp, clear sound directly to a static camera, positioned on a tripod close to the front row of guests. The full cut of the ceremony (and speeches if I’m booked for the reception) is then edited with some professional photos and B Roll video higlights (which can include drone video when location and timeline permit).
This is not a cinematic, highly creative ‘highlights reel’ that you’d expect to receive from a dedicated videographer, and it is priced to reflect that. Instead, it will ensure you have a good quality memory of everything that was said during the ceremony and speeches. The final edit, delivered via Dropbox, will be between 20mins and 1 hour long depending on the length of your ceremony and speeches. This means it’s not something you’ll want to post on your Insta stories or bust out every time you have friends for dinner. But it is something that will become more valuable as the years go by and special people who made speeches may no longer be with you, or memories of your vows and the tears and laughter you shared during them fade.
