It’s a romantic time of year and I know there are so many of you out there who have just got engaged, so I wanted to share this beautiful sunset Hawke’s Bay engagement photography blog with you and also share the love story of Courtney and Nick, who are planning for their Hawke’s Bay wedding exactly one year to the day from when we shot these photos on Te Mata Peak a few weeks ago. It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful place for a summer wedding than New Zealand’s wedding capital, Hawke’s Bay.

A photographer (or two!) following you about for the day is definitely one of those things for some people, so I really love it when a couple decides to spend some quiet time alone with me to get used to the process during an engagement session.

Anyone planning a wedding knows they can be complicated. That's why we adore engagement sessions. They are, quite simply, about two people in love. There's no dress to fuss over, no bridal party looking on, no timelines to stick to beyond those set by Mother Nature and there aren't 100 people waiting for us to hurry up and be creative so the party can get started.
